Do they have (the right) experience?
In order to make sure the job is done correctly, you need to ensure the private investigators you work with are experienced. Take the time to ask questions about who they are, how long they have been in business, and the types of investigations they specialize in. Are they familiar with the Long Island area, New York City, Nassau County, and Suffolk County? Verify the firm is licensed, bonded, and insured.
Are they properly licensed?
The state of New York requires specific licensing in order to legally provide private investigation services. Always ensure the investigators you are working with are fully licensed and insured. This will ensure that any evidence acquired will be able to stand in the court of law. Always ask for a license number, and make sure you check the license to verify its validity.
