I recently had the pleasure of being the first guest on The Daley Hill podcast, hosted by my client and my friend. We kicked off the episode with some hilarious reminiscing about our past, from our youthful escapades (or “pailing,” as we affectionately called it) all the way to working together on a sensitive case.
We started by diving into some lighter topics, like the time one of their reels went viral and the (sometimes hilarious) vitriol that came with it. Internet trolls, am I right?
The Work of a Private Investigator
As we continued the podcast (I don’t want to give away too much—have a listen!), we discussed my work as a private investigator. From infidelity cases to child custody, missing persons, and more, I explained why I do what I do and why I love helping people. I’m always up for a challenge.
I also shared how I got into private investigations in New York. Let’s just say I’ve always had a knack for sleuthing and spying (in a totally legal and ethical way, of course!). My career really took off when I was 19, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
As for funny stories from my younger years? Well, let’s just say I have a few tame ones to share. Like the time I caught a boyfriend red-handed (or rather, red-keyboarded) thanks to some clever catfishing. The juicier stories, unfortunately, are client-confidential!
The two hosts of The Daley Hill podcast posed some intriguing questions:
I provided a measured response, shedding light on the intricacies of locate investigations, surveillance, and related techniques. I also reassured them that, despite the potential risks, I’ve never had concerns about my safety. With careful planning, expertise, and a keen sense of awareness, I’m confident in my ability to navigate complex situations while maintaining my and my subcontractors’ personal security.
When asked about my favorite cases, my top two favorite types of cases are child custody and locates. There’s something deeply rewarding about working on child custody cases, where I can help the courts make informed decisions about a child’s well-being and the court can decide to place them with the most suitable parent.
Locates, on the other hand, hold a special place in my heart—especially when it comes to reuniting long-lost sweethearts. There’s something endearing about helping people reconnect with lost loves, and it’s a lighter, more uplifting aspect of my work.
A few questions that sparked my interest included:
Well, you’ll just have to tune in to The Daley Hill podcast to find out—I shared my honest answer on the show! As for the wildest case? I don’t think I’ll ever speak on that one.
The host shared part of her personal story, and I categorized this case as a locate—but one that was uniquely intricate and delicate. Out of respect for privacy, I won’t delve into specifics, but suffice it to say that it was a challenging case with a rewarding outcome.
Moments like these remind me why I love being a PI. When individuals you are randomly contacting in locate cases realize that I’m genuinely there to help, it’s a beautiful thing. It’s a privilege to witness people’s willingness to assist and support one another, and it reaffirms my faith in humanity.
My favorite moment from the podcast came when the host, also a client, praised my bravery, grit, and intellectual approach to private investigations. She acknowledged that it takes a unique combination of courage, determination, and understanding of human nature to excel in this field.
I was thrilled that she recognized the reality of being a PI—it’s not all glamour and excitement like in the movies, but rather a challenging profession that requires skill, strategy, and a deep understanding of the law.
